My friend fox – author talk in Traralgon Library today

My Friend Fox by Heidi Everett

I was privileged to attend the author presentation held in Traralgon today, as part of the Regional Writers Rise Festival: Celebrating Gippsland’s Diverse Stories!

I thank writer-poet-songwriter-artist Heidi Everett for her creative and original memoir about life within adn outside of teh mental health industry. My Friend Fox was published recently by Ultimo Press. I thank Heidi for her honest and uplifting way of saying the things that are hard to say and hard to hear, both in her book and today, at the author talk. And I thank her for singing us her one of her wonderful songs today, which left me teary-eyed in a good way.

I highly recommend this memoir to anyone who has lived with mental illness, or been involved in the mental health industry (on either side), or who like me is passionate about diverse life stories and memoirs in people’s own voices.
